Opening New Files Tutorial:

New File Notifications Tutorial:

 

Hover over the Create File menu option to display a further fly out menu. Select the appropriate type of file you wish to create from this menu.

Select a Lawyer - Select the appropriate lawyer who is responsible for this file from the drop down list that appears.

File Number - Enter your file number.

Acting for Other Side Also - Select this option if you are also acting on the other side of this file.

If you have indicated through the Company Profile that your preference is to Check for Connected file requests on file opening and your company has made at least one Connection, you will also have the ability to select the Lawyer/Notary and Lawyer/Notary Company acting on the other side of the file. 

Seller – Buyer – Borrower or Lender Lawyer/Notary - Click the blue individual Lawyer/Notary link to look up the lawyer/notary in the library. Enter the last name of the lawyer/notary and select them from the list that appears. If the lawyer/notary has branch offices, you will be prompted to select the appropriate branch. Once a lawyer/notary is selected, the lawyer/notary company field will complete. 

Seller – Buyer – Borrower or Lender Lawyer/Notary Company - If you do not know the name of the individual lawyer/notary you can enter just the company. Click the blue Lawyer/Notary Company link, enter the Company name and select them from the list that appears. If the Company has branch offices, you will be prompted to select the appropriate branch.  

Quick File Summary - If you add a representative for the other side on file opening that you are Connected with, this field will become available. Use this field to enter information that will easily allow the other side to recognize the file. The contents of this field will appear in the New File Notification that is sent to the other side.

Note:  If you select a firm that you are Connected with, the new file notification will be sent immediately upon file opening.
